Vickers Street Community Hub (formerly known as Sebastopol Community Hub) is a vibrant, multi-purpose facility designed to bring people together and support local families. It offers spaces for early childhood education, community engagement, and essential health services—all under one roof for the southern suburbs in the City of Ballarat.
The hub features three spacious 120m² kindergarten rooms to meet growing early learning demand, a main hall with seating for 150 and an accessible stage for events, plus four flexible meeting rooms for groups of 12–50 people. Families benefit from dedicated maternal and child health consulting rooms, while a community kitchen, outdoor play space, and undercover play area encourage social connection and active play. Convenient on-site parking ensures easy access for all.
AWN worked in collaboration with City of Ballarat and the design consultants to finalise the landscaping design, including considerations around retaining existing trees and performing the works with minimal impact to tree health via hand and hydro excavation.
AWN also worked in collaboration with City of Ballarat and the design consultants, to finalise and deliver the projects’ provisional sum packages, adding significant value, without adding time to the project program – handing the facility back to the City of Ballarat more than a month ahead of schedule.
