Founded in 1895, the iconic Hepburn Spa Bath House is known around the world for its mineral water properties. Its increasing popularity and the high moisture environment meant an extensive redevelopment was required, including demolition, a new pool and spa facility, as well as renovation of the existing heritage-listed building.
The works consisted of a renovation of the early 1900s heritage listed building and the construction of a new pool and spa facility. With extremely difficult site access due to the original building being sited over a creek, sophisticated construction scheduling was required to mitigate the access issues and ensure OHS compliance.
The resulting spa building is nothing short of spectacular: World class fittings, unique construction materials and state of the art aquatic centre systems and controls maintain the Hepburn Spa Bath House as a much sought after destination in Victoria’s regional spa country.
The works attracted major local and national attention – including personal interest from the Victorian State Premier, going on to win the 2009 MBAV Regional Commercial Builder of the Year award.
