Nicholson Construction completed Baimbridge College’s redevelopment over two stages which included constructing two new buildings with science, technology, and food technology facilities, as well as administration spaces.
The Early Works included demolition of the existing Admin Wing to make way for the new Capital Works build, with refurbishment of the existing Library into a temporary Admin/ Reception and Office area. The works were completed over the preceding Christmas school holidays in line with best practice principles and our understanding of managing construction programs in live educational environments.
The Capital Works included (New Building A) new reception, offices, meeting rooms, staff room, first aid rooms, wellbeing rooms and (New Building B) woodwork, metal work, materials preparation, physics, chemistry and science rooms.
A new pavement and synthetic turf courtyard was laid in between the two new buildings for students to use during breaks, with tables and bench seating and external synthetic turf hardcourts line marked for basketball, tennis hockey and soccer, making for quite a versatile space. Landscaping throughout finished the student friendly spaces.
