Nicholson Construction worked with Catherine McAuley College, the City of Greater Bendigo, Cricket Australia, Cricket Victoria and the Victorian Government to craft the Catherine McAuley College Joint Use Sporting Development (now known as the Mercy Junortoun Sports Precinct).
This transformative project addressed the escalating need for advanced school and community sports facilities in Junortoun. The initiative aimed to cater to the burgeoning demand for junior sports, accommodating both educational and community usage outside school hours. Commencing construction in late 2021, the completed precinct now stands as an innovative junior sporting hub, poised to invigorate the community.
The redevelopment encompasses the construction of multiple sporting facilities, including two junior-size ovals, senior ovals equipped with turf cricket wickets and lighting, outdoor netball courts, and comprehensive amenities.
The modern indoor complex features a two-court stadium, adaptable social spaces, female-friendly changerooms and a state-of-the-art cricket training area. Our partnership with our specialist sports-field contractor, Pitchcraft, has transformed these facilities into a versatile hub, ensuring optimal usability for various activities, fostering both educational engagement and community integration.
Nicholson Construction is proud to have delivered a vibrant sporting precinct that will positively impact Junortoun and the broader Bendigo community.
