Working with Gekko-engaged architects, Nicholson Construction was appointed to build a state-of-the-art factory facility.

On a concrete slab, structural steel portal frames with an extended (spring) height were used to accommodate the large mining equipment manufactured by Gekko.

To manage year round temperature and energy costs, Kingspan thermal efficient cladding was employed for the external walls.

Internally, the facilities included administrative offices, lunch and rest room areas, a custom gantry crane and purpose-built roller doors.

To complete the project, concrete paving, drainage and flood mitigation basins were installed.
