A 120 year commitment to building excellence has ensured quality and quality control is ‘stock in trade’ for Nicholson Construction.
In addition, a formal and on-going commitment to continuous improvement is evident in Nicholson Construction’s ISO9001 quality management system accreditation – first established in 2008.
As part of normal operations, quality procedures are implemented across all aspects of the organisation. From tendering, accounts and administration; project management, OH&S, customer service and contract negotiations; every element of every function undertaken by Nicholson Construction is bound by these quality standards.
Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)
An area of no compromise for Nicholson Construction. This commitment to OH&S was highlighted in 2009 when the company was named the first regional contractor in Victoria to achieve Federal Safety Commission (FSC) accreditation. Since that time, Nicholson Construction’s OH&S systems and practices have achieved continuous certification to both AS4801 and FSC standards.
To ensure these obligations are always met and monitored, a full-time HSEQ Manager, who reports to the Directors, ensures systems are closely audited every six months to ensure complete compliance.
Nothing is more important than the workplace safety of employees and sub-contractors on Nicholson Construction locations.
Sustainable construction and environmental impact are building terms often used but not always practiced. For many years Nicholson Construction has undertaken pro-active and sustained action towards minimising the impact on the surrounding environment in all areas of operation. From waste minimisation and erosion control, to water use efficiencies and solar integration – sustainability and environmental management is part of everyday operation.
Recognising this, in December 2014 Total Quality Certification Services International (TQCSI), awarded Nicholson Construction with its highly regarded Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) accreditation.
